Raped: My Story

Speaking out about rape in Channel 5 documentary airing tonight

This powerful documentary reveals the real people and stories behind sexual violence statistics. The Angles project was delighted to have supported the producers with research and contacts with excellent contributors.

Angles members Emily Jacob, Founder of ReConnected Life and Sam Thompson, Survivors Manchester Ambassador, took part in filming and we supported them throughout the process. They are really pleased with the outcome and we’re extremely proud to have worked with them both.

The powerful testimony of 10 survivors brings to life not only the emotional and psychological impact of the crime, but experience of dealing with the justice system and all that follows.

Every account reflects a deeply personal experience, but common themes echo across the film, giving us extraordinary insight into what victims think and feel, how they are treated, and what determines and informs their actions afterwards.

Approximately 85,000 women and 12,000 men are raped in England and Wales alone every year; that’s roughly 11 rapes (of adults alone) every hour.*

The Lambent Productions 90 minute documentary airs on Channel 5 tonight, Wednesday 22nd November 2017 at 9pm.

By Passion Distribution. Produced by Lambent Productions. Directed by Catey Sexton.
